Project Info:

For this project, we've researched the effects of making it more challenging to start using your smartphone. By requiring people to finish a sliding puzzle challenge on the back of the smartphone to unlock their phone, we've been able to research the consequenses of adding an extra step to unlocking your smartphone. The goal was to find out if this could help lowering phone usage, especially usage caused by notifications which are just intended to get you on your phone all the time. For all user test we've also created several test objects, with the final object being a full phone case with sliding puzzle, utilising magnetic sliders, resulting in another interesting finding. Because of the satisfying sliders, please also started playing more with this, instead of using their phones.
